2.1 trillion yuan! The country sets goals for the electronic components industry
2025-02-26

This type of component has 1000 on mobile phones and 10000 on cars

Electronic components have always been inconspicuous.

"In the industry, chips, artificial intelligence, the Internet, etc. have always received more attention, and people rarely pay attention to these components that play an important role." Lou Long, director of the member service department of the China Electronic Components Industry Association, said frankly that in the new era, the electronic information industry has become a hot field, and has obtained sustained and rapid development, which cannot be separated from the support of unknown electronic components.

Here is a set of data, taking MLCC (a special capacitor) as an example, there are 1000 on each Apple phone, 6000 on each base station, and over 10000 on a smart connected car, "said Wang Ruoda.

This type of MLCC, known as' electronic industry rice ', has rarely become a hot topic of public attention. But in fact, electronic components are everywhere.

Electronic components have penetrated into every aspect of life, including 5G, intelligent connected vehicles, the Internet of Things, military equipment, and other fields. They are the 'food' for our industrial development, "said Wang Ruoda." Moreover, the technological role of electronic components is prominent, as the saying goes, 'no component, no product.'

In the past, electronic components have always been hidden behind complete products and not easily received widespread attention. The country hopes to enhance the awareness of the electronic components industry through the "Action Plan", and promote it as a key focus and innovative development of the industry.

Big but not strong, development should be in line with the urgent needs of the industry

In recent years, various electronic components have faced price increases and even shortages. Taking MLCC as an example, high-end products are mostly produced by overseas enterprises, and most Chinese enterprises are in the third tier, with relatively little say in segmented fields. With strong downstream demand and insufficient upstream production capacity, passive acceptance of price increases has become the norm.

At present, China has become the world's largest producer of electronic components, with over 10000 enterprises, and most of its products are in a leading position in terms of production and sales worldwide. Wang Ruoda introduced that, however, the problem of China's electronic components industry being large but not strong is still prominent, mainly manifested in the overall weak strength of enterprises, weak independent innovation ability, and lack of backbone enterprises.

To promote the development of the basic electronic components industry, the country must urgently address the needs of the industry and provide direction for the industry. The 'Action Plan' prioritizes the high-end improvement of key products, "said Wang Ruoda." You can find the key products to be developed in the Basic Components Action Plan, mainly including electromechanical, sensing, optical communication devices, etc., and clarify the development direction.

We hope to make breakthroughs in core technologies in innovation, such as RF filters and ceramic capacitors, which are our focus. We have also proposed MLCC chip and miniaturization in electronic components, "said Wang Ruoda.

The so-called 'one fence with three stakes'. The transformation and upgrading of industries cannot be achieved in isolation. It is necessary to cultivate and create a development environment.

It is reported that in order to promote the transformation and upgrading of the electronic components industry, relevant departments will implement actions to promote intelligent manufacturing and green manufacturing. By using intelligent manufacturing to solve common industry problems such as consistency and reliability, and by using green manufacturing to solve common industry problems such as energy efficiency and pollution. In addition, relevant departments will strengthen standardization work, enhance public platform construction, provide analysis and testing platforms, technology service platforms, innovation and entrepreneurship incubation platforms, etc. for enterprises, further assist in the innovation and upgrading of enterprises, and strive to achieve a revenue scale of over 10 billion for 15 enterprises by 2023.
